Welcome to the Austin Area Collective Housing home page!
We intend to start a new housing cooperative in Austin on the east side. Our goal is to use our collective resources as a cooperative to benefit the surrounding community while being an affordable and fun place to live (see our mission for more details). Ideally we would like to be able to house around 30 people, although we may wind up creating something smaller than that depending on what is ultimately feasible. We have incorporated as a nonprofit corporation, which will be the entity that owns our house, and are currently looking for property and assessing financing options, as well as looking for additional people to help start the coop.
